Make practising your Pull-Ups easier to fit into your day
If you are working full-time, finding time to exercise can be harder than the workout itself. Having a pull up bar at home removes the trip somewhere else just to use one.
Research on habit formation suggests that repeating a behaviour in a consistent context helps it become more automatic.
You will be more likely to repeat and stick to a habit if the cues are obvious. In other words, if you have a Pull-Up bar at home, you are more likely to do Pull-Ups every time you see it.
You still have to put in the work. The idea is to make getting started so much easier.
Walk past your bar? Pull Up. See the bar? Pull Up.
Anti-spin locks: Keep the rotating section in place
Some tension pull up bars can rotate during exercise. Depending on the direction, this can cause the bar to tighten or loosen.
That means you may need to pay attention to which side you perform your pull ups from.
The DoorBeast has anti-spin locks designed to prevent the rotating section from turning once secured. After tightening the bar, engage the locks to hold that section in place.
You don’t have to think about which side you perform your Pull-Ups on The bar remains tight and does not loosen easily.
Self-securing mechanism: How the end stoppers work
The DoorBeast uses shaped end stoppers designed to press more firmly against the installation surfaces when downward load is applied.
The triangular sections of the stoppers point downwards. With the bar correctly installed, downward force causes the stopper to increase pressure against the supporting surfaces.
This mechanism makes the DoorBeast tighter as you put more weight on the bar.
This works alongside the bar’s initial tension and anti-spin locks to help keep the setup secure.
Textured grip: Choose where your hands sit
The DoorBeast uses a textured gripping surface instead of separate sponge grips.
This gives you flexibility to place your hands along the 50cm centre section, whether you prefer a narrow grip or a position closer to shoulder width.
The texture provides grip without restricting you to fixed padded sections.
The textured feel also gives you a firm grip on the bar while balancing the roughness so your hands are not unnecessarily callused.
What is the DoorBeast made from?
| Component | Material |
|---|---|
| Main bar body | Steel |
| Internal threaded extension rod | Medium carbon steel |
| End stopper bodies | Polypropylene, or PP |
| Anti-spin locks | Polypropylene, or PP |
| Pads touching the installation surfaces | PVC |
The steel body forms the main structure, while the threaded rod lets you adjust the bar to your installation width. The PVC pads form the contact points between the bar and the supporting surfaces.
Check your installation area before buying
Measure the opening and check the frame construction before ordering. DoorBeast requires solid, parallel installation surfaces supported by concrete.
| Installation area | Suitable? |
|---|---|
| Solid, intact concrete surfaces | Yes, provided the opening and contact area meet the installation requirements |
| Solid metal frames supported by concrete | Yes, provided the opening and contact area meet the installation requirements |
| Soft wooden frames | No |
| Hollow frames | No |
| Partition walls or false walls | No |
| Damaged or cracked surfaces | No |
| Slanted or nonparallel surfaces | No |
Check what supports the frame as well as its outer surface. A metal covering does not necessarily mean the frame is solid.

The DoorBeast’s working length is 72cm to 97cm, and each contact pad measures 4.8cm × 7.4cm. Check both the distance between the surfaces and the available space for the pads.
If you are unsure about your installation area, contact us before buying.
How to install the DoorBeast
Installation follows 4 main steps. Use this overview alongside the illustrated instructions supplied with your bar. Watch a full video guide here.
1. Measure your installation area
Check the distance between the two opposing surfaces and confirm that the location meets the requirements above.
This tells you how far the bar needs to extend before you position it.
2. Extend and position the bar
Keep the anti-spin locks disengaged while rotating the bar.
Extend it to approximately the width of the opening, then position it between the surfaces. Make sure the bar is horizontal and the triangular sections of both stoppers point downwards.
3. Tighten the bar
Hold one end of the bar and press the other end against the installation surface. With your other free hand, rotate the center bar as the bar continues extending. Once it is tight, use both hands to rotate the bar to more than tight to firmly secure it.
If your doorframes crack when you extend the bar, that area is not suitable for installation.
4. Engage the anti-spin locks
Once the bar is secured, insert and engage the anti-spin locks to hold the rotating section in place.
Complete the checks below before using it.
Quick check before your workout
| Check | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Bar position | Horizontal, with both stopper sections pointing downwards |
| Anti-spin locks | Fully engaged |
| Installation surfaces | Intact, with no cracking, deformation or movement |
| Bar security | No shifting or loosening; check and retighten according to the supplied instructions |
Keep the locks disengaged when adjusting the bar. Trying to rotate it with the locks engaged creates resistance because preventing rotation is their job.
Check the installation before each workout. If the bar shifts, loosens or the supporting surface changes, stop using it until the issue is resolved.

Frequently asked questions
Does the DoorBeast require screws or drilling?
No. It uses an adjustable tension mechanism, contact pads and locking features to install between suitable opposing surfaces.
Can I use DoorBeast to work towards my first pull up?
Yes. It provides a place to practise at home, making it easier to fit your training into your schedule. Your progress will depend on your starting strength and training consistency.
Can I install it on a metal doorframe?
A solid metal frame supported by concrete can be suitable, provided it meets the dimensional and contact requirements. Hollow metal frames are not suitable.
Does no drilling mean no damage to the frame?
No. A tension bar applies pressure to the surfaces supporting it. Choose a suitable installation area and follow the tightening instructions to avoid forcing the bar against an unsuitable frame.
Bring your pull up training home
You do not need a full gym to start working towards your first pull up.
With a suitable doorway and the right setup, DoorBeast gives you a compact place to practise without drilling or travelling somewhere else to train.
